Jean Lamore
Né à Washington DC en 1952, il s'installe en France en 1977. Hormis les expositions personnelles en France, en Italie et au Japon, ses œuvres ont été présentées à la Biennale de Venise en 1986, section Aperto, Pictura Loquens à la Villa Arson, Nice, et Arte in Francia, Vingt-cinq Années d'Art en France au Palazzo Reale de Milan. Il est le co-fondateur de Quatrième Parallèle, résidence d'artistes en République Centre Afrique et il a participé, dès ses débuts, au projet collectif Necessita dei Volti, présenté à Image in the Aftermath au Beirut Art Center (BAC), et au Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris. Il est co-fondateur et rédacteur de Mamba, revue culturelle à la croisée des chemins de l'art, des sciences et de la politique. Il est l'auteur et le réalisateur du film Building Oblivion. Il est également auteur de romans dont UQ11 Dawn's Improbability, et de livres de non-fiction. Les créations de Jean Lamore constituent un ensemble pluridisciplinaire qui incorpore l'art, allant du paysage intensément figuratif en passant par la radiographie de sculptures occultées, l'écriture, et le film ainsi que les entretiens et débats télévisés.
Jean Lamore
Born in 1952 in Washington DC, he moved to France in 1977. In addition to solo exhibitions in France, Italy and Japan, his work has been shown at the 1986 Venice Biennale, Aperto section, Pictura Loquens at the Villa Arson, Nice and Arte in Francia, Twenty-five Years of French Art, at the Palazzo Reale in Milan. He co-founded Quatrième Parallèle, an artists residency in the Central African Republic and he participated from inception in the collective project Necessita dei Volti presented at Image in the Aftermath at the Beirut Art Center (BAC) and the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris. He is co-founder and Editor of Mamba, a cultural review at the crossroads of politics, art and science and author of the film Building Oblivion. He is the author of novels inclding UQ11 Dawn's Improbability and non-fiction books. Jean Lamore's creations constitute an extensive pluridisciplinary body of work incorporating art, going from intensively figurative landscape paintings to X-ray and scanner imagery of occulted sculptures, writing, filming as well as televised debates and interviews.
